Liz Earle Botanical Shampoo: if it impresses HIM... then...

My lover always disrespected my fierce horde of hair care products by Joico, Paul Mitchell and organically niche brands. "I don't like 'em, I'd rather use Pantene, you know, I even use it as a body wash! It's convenient."

A BODY WASH?

You gotta be kidding me. 

I tried forcing him to use my organic clarifying shampoos but he would whine like a little child: "IT DOESN'T FOAM!" was his apologetic excuse when he literally threw down the drain $ 15 dollars in one single use.

OK.

So desperate diseases require desperate remedies, and using Pantene is a disease. 

I snatched that bottle from MY shower and insisted that he should use Liz Earle Botanical Shampoo.

He gave in.

After 30 minutes, he's all relieved and amazed: "OOOhhhh I love this shampoo!! It foams and you only need so little! Plus, it does not smell like girl. It smells like soap."

And I am there, sitting on my bed, looking at him with my arched eyebrow, thinking: "What did I do!"

I like this brand. They have a good ingredients policy. 

Here's the list of ingredients: 

Aqua (water), Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate, Aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, Sorbitan sesquicaprylate, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl betaine, Sodium methyl isethionate, Lauric acid, Vitellaria paradoxa (shea butter), Pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract, Citrus aurantium dulcis (orange) fruit extract, Tocopherol (vitamin E), Phenoxyethanol, Panthenol, Citronellyl methylcrotonate, Trisodium ethylenediamine disuccinate, Sodium chloride, Limonene, Sodium cocoyl glycinate, Parfum (fragrance), Guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, Xanthan gum, Linalool, Citric acid, Methyl hydrogenated rosinate, Acrylates/C10-30 alkyl acrylatecrosspolymer*, Phytantriol, Methylisothiazolinone, Biosaccharide Gum-1.

*Safe for your skin but can pollute the environment.

For what I know, it took them 7 years to formulate this product, and I see why: it is amazing...!

Sodium lauroyl methyl isethionate (SLMI) is a relatively new surfactant, very mild but also very effective. It also adds a luxurious and dense feel to the product texture, which I love in a shampoo. 

I checked every single ingredient in the list on skindeep.com: some preservatives and chelating agent are red, which means they are potentially carcinogenic. I think they did a good job after all. Only two reds!! 


I can't wait to try something else from this brand. Maybe skincare!
