Puffy eyes?
I am sure many of you are acquainted with the most common remedies, such as massaging your eyelids very gently, using a cold spoon or putting cucumbers slices.
How to prevent them?
Firstly, be sure to get enough sleep. Usually if your sleep cycle is effective, you will only need from 6 to 8 hours. To do so, sleep in the dark avoiding sunlight and take melatonin. Melatonin is a natural supplement that helps regulating your sleep cycle. I don't use a particular brand - I take 5 mg pills everynight. I follow this routine for 3 months - pause for 2 months - and then begin again.
Secondly, avoid night cream. It sounds crazy but yes, creams and especially those very consistent WILL make your eyes puffy. If you can't go without, try a lightweight formula such as a serum or a gel-based formula.
Thirdly, keep an eye gel refrigerated and as soon as you wake up gently massage it on your under-eye and eyelid. Even some simple Aloe Vera gel will do the trick and the process itself is really refreshing and invigorating.
Always eat healthy, fresh, not too salty food. (Yes, that includes tortilla chips and pre-made sandwiches)
